About the Ministry

Minister Message

Puntland’s vast coastline and rich marine biodiversity provide immense opportunities for economic growth, food security, and community livelihoods, but these opportunities come with responsibilities. The fisheries sector holds the potential to drive sustainable development, yet it faces challenges such as illegal fishing, overexploitation, and weak infrastructure. To overcome these, Puntland aims to build a sustainable, equitable, and well-governed fisheries industry that supports local communities, enhances nutrition, and contributes to the economy.
